Brazil Hospitality Group (BHG) has taken over the management of hotel complex Royal Tulip Rio de Janeiro in Sao Conrado, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The hotel will add 418 rooms to BHG’s portfolio, bringing its total to 7,068 rooms in 36 hotels.

On 1 October 2011, the management of the hotel switched from InterContinental Hotels Group to BHG.

The period of transition began in March this year with the purchase of shares representing 100% of the share capital of Brascan Imobiliaria Hotelaria e Turismo, the hotel’s previous owner.
