Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group has expanded its portfolio in Saudi Arabia with two new hotels, the Park Inn by Radisson Riyadh and the Radisson Blu Hotel, Jeddah Al Salamah.
Radisson Blu Hotel, Jeddah Al Salamah is expected to open in second quarter 2015 while Park Inn by Radisson Riyadh is due to open in first quarter 2016.
The Park Inn by Radisson Riyadh is situated near the existing Radisson Blu Hotel, Riyadh.
The mid-market hotel will feature 170 guest rooms, two restaurants, a lobby lounge, meetings and events facilities, as well as a fitness centre including an outdoor pool.
The new Radisson Blu Hotel, Jeddah Al Salamah is situated on Quraysh Road in the Al Salamah district.
The Al Salamah area surrounding the hotel site features office space, a public ballroom and residential areas, all situated between the Corniche and the main Madinah Road.
Upon completion, the upper upscale hotel will feature 142 rooms and serviced apartments, a restaurant, a lobby cafe, meeting and event facilities, and wellness facilities with a gym and an outdoor pool.
Carlson Rezidor president and CEO Wolfgang Neumann said that Saudi Arabia is a key focus country for the group.
"We already operate six hotels with over 1,200 rooms in the Kingdom and have nine hotels with 1,700 rooms under development – we see a considerable potential for future projects in the country which shows positive economic growth," Neumann added.
Carlson Rezidor’s portfolio includes over 1,300 hotels in operation and under development.
The group plans to increase the portfolio to around 1,500 hotels in operation and under development by 2015.
