Global hospitality firm Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group has announced plans to open a new hotel in Algeria, The Radisson Blu Hotel, Algiers Hydra, which will be the group’s first project in the region.
Scheduled to open during the first quarter of 2015, the new Radisson Blu Hotel, Algiers Hydra will feature 138 guest rooms.
All rooms will feature Radisson Blu signature services, including free high-speed internet access.
Additional amenities at the new hotel will include a 315m² all-day dining restaurant, a 200m² lobby bar, as well as 380m² of meeting and conference facilities along with a wellness and fitness centre.
Rezidor president and CEO Wolfgang Neumann said, "We are delighted to arrive in Algeria – a country with considerable growth potential where we aim to further strengthen the presence of our core brands Radisson Blu and Park Inn by Radisson."
The Radisson Blu Hotel, Algiers Hydra will be located in the Hydra Commune, part of the ‘Heights of Algiers’, where the majority of the foreign embassies, ministries and universities are situated.
The group operates and develops 51 hotels with over 11,300 rooms across the continent, of which 14 hotels featuring over 4,500 rooms are in Northern Africa.
Currently, the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group’s portfolio includes over 1,300 hotels in operation and under development across 100 countries and territories, including global brands like Radisson Blu, Park Inn by Radisson, Country Inns & Suites by CarlsonSM and Hotel Missoni.
The group plans to expand its portfolio to about 1,500 hotels in operation and under development by 2015.
