US-based hospitality group Choice Hotels International has signed a partnership deal with Maplewood Hotels & Resorts to launch new Cambria Suites properties in Canada.
The new hotels will be developed in collaboration with Maplewood, which is a joint venture between solutions-based services provider Driftwood Hospitality Management and Canadian hotel management and development company Pacrim Hospitality Services.
Cambria Suites properties in Canada will feature amenities similar to other Cambria Suites hotels.
The property will include: Reflect, a contemporary bistro offering a dinner menu with local specialities, as well as a full bar and grab-and-go gourmet salads and sandwiches; Refill, a barista bar serving coffee and a breakfast buffet; and a Refresh fitness centre.
Driftwood executive vice president Carlos Rodriguez said that the growth in the Canadian lodging sector makes it the ideal market to bring the Cambria Suites brand to key locations.
"Through our strategic partnership with Pacrim, Maplewood is perfectly poised to introduce Cambria Suites to today’s Canadian traveller in key urban markets," Rodriguez added.
Choice Hotels International upscale brands senior vice president Michael Murphy said the group is excited to share the Cambria Suites experience with Canadian travellers.
"The brand continues tremendous growth in top-tier, key markets and Canada is an ideal location," Murphy added.
"The unique blend of style, smart design and sophisticated technology that is the Cambria Suites experience is sure to resonate well within this market."
The Cambria Suites properties will be designed as a lifestyle hotel brand and will feature a larger lobby to present a better social atmosphere, and all-suite rooms that are larger compared with standard hotel rooms and feature separate living, working and sleeping space.
Pacrim CEO Glenn Squires said, "We expect to have a minimum of five Cambria Suites Hotels under construction in 2014 with openings to occur starting in spring of 2015."
