Hilton Worldwide in collaboration with the DoubleTree by Hilton brand has opened the DoubleTree by Hilton Dhahran hotel in Al Khobar, Eastern Province in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The new 153-room hotel, which is a conversion property, represents the first DoubleTree by Hilton brand hotel to open in the country.

Located in the centre of the business and commercial district near Al Khobar Corniche, the hotel is in close proximity to shopping malls, new hi-tech petrol museum and exciting leisure activities like water sports at Half Moon Bay.

DoubleTree by Hilton Dhahran has a large ballroom, four flexible meeting rooms, a 24-hour business centre and fitness centre, as well as a fully-renovated fitness centre, indoor swimming pool and spa area with a steam room and sauna that are scheduled to open in late 2014.

"The hotel is in close proximity to shopping malls, new hi-tech petrol museum and exciting leisure activities."

DoubleTree by Hilton global head John Greenleaf said, "The introduction of DoubleTree by Hilton to Saudi Arabia demonstrates the brand’s global recognition and positive growth."

The new hotel has a wide range of rooms and suites including 99 king, queen or twin rooms in addition to a selection of 54 one and two-bedroom suites.

Hilton Worldwide Middle East & Africa president Rudi Jagersbacher said this opening brings more awareness of the brand to the Middle East region and showcases the diversity of the group’s portfolio.

Jagersbacher said, "We now have four diverse hotel brands open in Saudi Arabia ranging from top luxury to full service.

"Our presence in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province continues to leverage the international hospitality service standards in the area and the city of Dhahran."

Dining facilities at the property include three restaurants including Al Waha, an all-day dining restaurant serving international cuisine, Rasoi offering array of Indian specialties and the Al Maha Café providing a coffee break along with pastry treats.

DoubleTree by Hilton Dhahran general manager Ahmet Antepli said the opening answers a much needed demand in the market for a full service hotel category in the city of Dhahran.

"Our service and culture are the differentiating factors to leverage the guest experience standard in the hospitality industry in Dhahran," Antepli said.

"Our goal is geared towards maximizing repeat guests, given the traveller profile in the area and maintaining a high record of guest satisfaction. We look forward to welcoming our first guests to DoubleTree by Hilton Dhahran."
