Hilton Paris Opera

Hilton Worldwide has signed an agreement to rebrand the Concorde Opéra hotel under its Hilton Hotels & Resorts brand in late 2014.

The hospitality group will undertake an investment programme to restore and redesign the 124-year-old landmark Concorde Opéra and rebrand it as the Hilton Paris Opéra.

The new deal is part of Hilton Worldwide’s expansion plans in the Paris market and is propelled by the city’s tourist appeal as well as high levels of guest demand for quality hotel accommodation.

Concorde Opéra is located in close proximity to famous attractions including the Opéra, the Louvre, the Sacré Cœur and the Arc de Triomphe, while its surrounding area is currently undergoing large-scale redevelopment under a public and private investment programme.

Business and leisure facilities at the 266-room Hilton Paris Opéra hotel will include an executive floor and lounge as well as meetings and food and beverage facilities.

Hilton Hotels & Resorts global head Rob Palleschi said that Paris is one of the world’s great tourist destinations, in part due to its rich architectural and cultural history.

"This hotel is renowned for its intricate façade and today’s agreement will pair one of Paris’ best known buildings with our signature hotel brand," Palleschi said.

"We’re excited to be creating a Hilton hotel of exceptional quality in the Hilton Paris Opéra."

Recently, the Concorde Opéra property was acquired by Blackstone Real Estate Partners Europe IV (Blackstone).

"Today’s agreement will pair one of Paris’ best known buildings with our signature hotel brand."

Hilton Worldwide has signed a management agreement with Blackstone to operate the hotel following the renovation project.

Hilton Worldwide Europe and Africa development senior vice president Patrick Fitzgibbon said that over 70 million people travel to Paris each year, placing it in the top five most popular cities to visit globally.

"This considerable demand represents a great opportunity for our brands," Fitzgibbon added.

"The new Hilton Paris Opéra will take advantage of a premium location, and will complement our existing Hilton Hotels & Resorts at La Défense, Charles De Gaulle and Orly Airports, in addition to the Hilton Chantilly Hotel & Conference Centre, which is currently under construction."

Recently, the hospitality group signed a management agreement to brand a new hotel as the Hilton Chantilly Hotel & Conference Centre, which will be located 30km from central Paris.

This new hotel, which will include meeting and conference facilities along with a spa, is expected to be launched in early 2015.
