Holiday Inn Express, a brand of InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), has opened its first hotel in Singapore, the Holiday Inn Express Singapore Orchard Road.
The new hotel is part of the group’s expansion plan in South-East Asia.
Located close to Somerset and Orchard MRT stations with restaurants, bars, medical centres, shopping malls and entertainment options in the vicinity, the hotel is suitable for business or leisure travellers.
Holiday Inn Express Singapore Orchard Road features 221 rooms equipped with quality bedding and a choice of soft or firm pillows, and power showers in the bathrooms.
Other amenities at the hotel include free Wi-Fi, self-service business centre, laundry room and Free Express Start breakfast bar.
Holiday Inn Express Singapore and Malaysia area general manager Mark Winterton said that savvy travellers look for a high quality experience that provides all the essentials that are necessary to be self-reliant and make the most of their trip.
"We are very excited to be the first Holiday Inn Express hotel in Singapore where guests can expect a fuss-free and refreshing stay with guaranteed comfort and convenience at a reasonable price," Winterton added.
IHG South-East Asia and Resorts chief operating officer Clarence Tan said that Holiday Inn Express is one of the largest and fastest growing brands in the industry, and has a bright future in South-East Asia.
"We are confident that Holiday Inn Express will do well in Singapore, whether guests are here for a quick stopover or longer trip, for business or for leisure," Tan added.
The Holiday Inn Express Singapore Orchard Road will be followed by another Holiday Inn Express hotel, Holiday Inn Express Singapore Clarke Quay, planned for opening in Q1 2014.
The new hotel is the third property for the brand in South-East Asia after the Holiday Inn Express Phuket Patong Beach Central and Holiday Inn Express Bangkok Siam hotels in Thailand.
In the next five years, the group plans to open 17 hotels in South-East Asia, including 12 in Indonesia, two each in Thailand and Malaysia, and one in Singapore.
