InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) and Operadora ALRO have opened the Holiday Inn Mexico Buenavista hotel in Mexico City, which features 143 rooms.

The ownership has invested about $9m to renovate the hotel, and is planning to add a new building adjacent to the hotel, which will feature two meeting rooms.

The new Holiday Inn hotel, which is slated to open before mid-2014, includes business-focused necessities such as an ergonomic workstation and data ports, plus bathrooms that feature a multifunctional showerhead and Bath and Body Works White Citrus bath products.

In addition, each room is equipped as a standard Holiday Inn guestroom, including a double, queen or king-sized bed, a sitting area with a lounge chair, hairdryer, micro fridge, coffee maker, iron and ironing board.

"The convenient location of this newly renovated property makes it an excellent choice for travellers who visit Mexico City for business or leisure."

The hotel, which is owned and managed by Operadora ALRO, also has complimentary wireless internet access, 32in flat screen television, and a radio-alarm clock with support for audio.

Additionally, the hotel features a restaurant with a terrace that serves international and Mexican speciality cuisine, and a lobby bar.

The fifth floor of the hotel is exclusively reserved for IHG Rewards Club members, and will have direct access to the swimming pool and fitness centre.

IHG Mexico, Latin America and Caribbean marketing strategic services vice president Gerardo Murray said that the new hotel is the group’s fifth opening in Mexico City this year.

"The convenient location of this newly renovated property makes it an excellent choice for travellers who visit Mexico City for business or leisure," Murray added.
