InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has expanded its Phoenix hotel portfolio with the launch of the new Crowne Plaza Phoenix Airport hotel.
The move follows a multi-million dollar renovation of the ten-storey property from an independent hotel to a Crowne Plaza hotel, which is the third hotel for the Crowne Plaza brand in Phoenix.
Located in close proximity to the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, the hotel is near to the Phoenix Convention Centre, Chase Field, home to the Arizona Diamondbacks, and US Airways Centre, downtown Phoenix’s entertainment venue and home to the Phoenix Suns.
IHG upscale brands Americas brand management vice president Gina LaBarre said the group is pleased to expand the Crowne Plaza brand in a major US market.
"We know our guests need to be productive when they’re on the road for work, and our hotels offer the service and amenities that enable them to be successful," LaBarre added.
The 290-room property, which is owned by CHPH and operated by Heavlin Management, is franchised by an affiliate of IHG.
Crowne Plaza Phoenix Airport hotel has a 24hr business centre, 24hr airport shuttle service and 18,000ft² of meeting space, including 13 meeting rooms as well as a ballroom.
The hotel offers covered parking for hotel guests, a well-equipped fitness centre, presidential and junior suites featuring king beds, in-room safes, marble bathrooms and flat screen TVs.
Dining and bar services at the new hotel are offered through ‘The Post’, which serves American cuisine, and ‘Perch’, which serves signature cocktails and regional beers and wines with light eating options.
The hotel also features the Crowne Plaza Sleep Advantage programme including signature bedding, guaranteed wake-up calls, designated quiet zones and aromatherapy.
All guest rooms, meeting space, public areas and dining spaces have been designed in a contemporary style and a 2,500ft² deck has been added to the outdoor heated pool allowing guests to relax, recharge and enjoy the Arizona sunshine.
Currently, the Crowne Plaza brand operates over 380 hotels across the globe, and has around 100 hotels in the pipeline.
