InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has opened the Holiday Inn Express Mill Valley San Francisco Area hotel, following a $4m renovation.
Previously known as the Larkspur Mill Valley Hotel, the renovation of the 100-room property included a redesign of all guestrooms and improvements to the hotel’s exterior.
IHG Americas brand management senior vice president Jim Anhut said: "With more than 2,100 properties worldwide, the Holiday Inn Express portfolio continues to expand in markets like San Francisco, providing our guests with an enhanced stay experience at a great value. We are proud to welcome this hotel into the Holiday Inn brand family with the brand new sign and everything it represents."
The hotel renovation forms part of the $1bn Holiday Inn global brand relaunch project announced in 2007.
The project focuses on arrival and welcome services, guestroom and guest bath comfort and a redesigned logo and signage to increase quality and consistency across the global portfolio.
Holiday Inn Express Mill Valley San Francisco Area’s complimentary Express Start breakfast bar features a full range of breakfast items and the brand’s proprietary cinnamon roll and Smart Roast coffee.
Guest rooms feature a 42in HD flat screen TV, iPod docking station, a sitting area with a lounge chair and an in-room coffee machine featuring complimentary Smart Roast 100% Arabica coffee.
For business travellers, the hotel offers large desks with ergonomic chairs, free high-speed internet access and free local phone and toll free phones with private voicemail.
There is also a business centre, a fitness centre and multiple meeting and event spaces.
Other amenities include a heated outdoor pool area with an expansive deck, private cabanas, a whirlpool spa, and an outdoor fire pit.
The Holiday Inn Express Mill Valley San Francisco Area is owned and managed by Ultima Hospitality under a license agreement with IHG.
