InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) and Auteles Kalionchiz have opened the Holiday Inn Monclova hotel in Monclova, Mexico.
Located in Coahuila, the 128-room hotel features a residential atmosphere and design, including business-focused features such as an ergonomic workstation and data ports, and bathrooms that feature a multifunctional showerhead and Bath & Body Works White Citrus bath products.
Each room in the hotel features double, queen or king-sized beds, a sitting area with a lounge chair, hairdryer, micro fridge, coffee maker, iron and ironing board. The presidential suite features a living room, hot tub and a meeting room for eight people.
All rooms have views of the pool, gardens or the city.
Other amenities at the hotel include a fitness centre, business centre, pool, laundry and dry cleaning services as well as two meeting rooms that can accommodate around 500 people.
Auteles Kalionchiz has invested $10m in the hotel, which is owned and managed by Inmobiliaria Auteles Kalionchiz.
IHG vice president of marketing strategic services for Mexico, Latin America and the Caribbean Gerardo Murray said the city of Monclova is one of Mexico’s key commercial, industrial and financial city centres.
"The city accounts for the highest production of steel in Mexico and Latin America – hence its nickname, ‘The Steel Capital’ – and we look forward to growing the IHG brand family there," Murray said.
IHG said the Holiday Inn Monclova hotel was designed with the Holiday Inn brand family’s $1bn global brand relaunch in mind.
