InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has signed a management deal with Société Foncière Lyonnaise (SFL) to operate the Hotel Indigo Paris – Opera hotel in France.
The new property marks the entry of the group’s Hotel Indigo brand in France and follows the recent signings of the brand in Rome and Brighton.
Owned by SFL, the hotel will undergo a major renovation programme before opening under the Hotel Indigo brand in 2014.
Located close to Opera Garnier and the InterContinental Paris Le Grand, the interiors of the 57-room Hotel Indigo Paris – Opera will be crafted with classic architecture and designs.
Amenities will include free Wi-Fi, 24hr room service, a fitness centre and a bar and restaurant.
IHG France and North Africa development director Brice Marguet said the company is delighted to be working with SFL on the property, which is its first managed Hotel Indigo in Europe.
"It’s a fantastic opportunity to showcase the Hotel Indigo brand in a flagship location. Hotel Indigo is a great fit for European cities like Paris due to the brand’s ability to fit in with the aesthetics of an area and highlight the richness of a culture and local flavours," Marguet added.
As of 31 March 2013, IHG operated 11 Hotel Indigo properties in Europe, with another 14 in the pipeline for Europe, which will open in the next three to five years.
IHG operates over 4,600 hotels and more than 674,000 guest rooms under nine brands, including InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Hotel Indigo, Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts, Holiday Inn Hotels and Resorts, Holiday Inn Express, Staybridge Suites, Candlewood Suites, EVEN Hotels and HUALUXE Hotels & Resorts.
