Marriott International has expanded its Courtyard by Marriott brand portfolio with the opening of Courtyard by Marriott Aberdeen Airport Hotel in the UK.

The hotel is the first to be built with a new European-inspired design model that features new designs and enhanced room functionality.

The new design model, which was announced in 2011, will be applied to upcoming hotels including the 230-room Courtyard Cologne in Germany, 120-room Courtyard Le Bourget in France, 175-room Courtyard Gdynia in Poland, 170-room Courtyard Amsterdam Atlas Park in The Netherlands and 135-room Courtyard Ulyanovsk in Russia.

Located near Aberdeen airport and the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre, the hotel allows guests to enjoy Scotland’s beaches, walking trails and a number of golf courses and whisky distilleries.

"We are confident that the new Courtyard European design will better meet the needs of our guests and help fuel expansion of the brand across Europe."

The Courtyard Aberdeen Airport Hotel features 194 guestrooms equipped with work space, task lighting and multiple, accessible outlets.

The lobby offers flexible seating, a GoBoard screen featuring latest news, weather and local information, and a 24hr market.

Other amenities at the hotel include free Wi-Fi, all-day Bistro Restaurant, a 40m² meeting room, a business lounge and a gym.

Marriott International Europe president and managing director Amy McPherson said the company is pleased to welcome the Courtyard Aberdeen Airport Hotel to its portfolio in the UK.

"We are confident that the new Courtyard European design will better meet the needs of our guests and help fuel expansion of the brand across Europe," McPherson added.

Established in 1983, Courtyard by Marriott operates 45 hotels in Europe and more than 900 hotels worldwide.
