Renaissance Hotels, a brand of American diversified hospitality company Marriott International, has opened the 212-room Renaissance Istanbul Bosphorus Hotel in Turkey under a franchise agreement with Polat Holding.

Located on the European side of Istanbul in Besiktas, the hotel features a rooftop bar, a lobby bar, a bistro, an all-day dining restaurant and a fitness centre.

The Renaissance Istanbul Bosphorus Hotel is the ninth property in Marriott International’s portfolio in Turkey, which also includes the newly opened JW Marriott Hotel Ankara and EDITION Istanbul.

Renaissance Hotels represents a collection of more than 152 hotels in 35 countries worldwide.

Meanwhile another of Marriott’s brands, Marriott Hotels & Resorts, has signed an agreement with Ojsc Tsum-Voronezh to open Voronezh Marriott Hotel in Russia in 2015.

Located on Prospekt Revolyutsii, the 220-room Voronezh Marriott Hotel will have 660m² of flexible meeting space, including a column-free ballroom and a dedicated business centre.

A health club with fitness centre, sauna, steam room and spa treatment rooms will also be available at the new hotel.

Marriott International Europe president and managing director Amy McPherson said the new hotel will be a great addition to the company’s portfolio as it continues to expand its brand in Russia.

"We currently operate 14 hotels across Russia and see tremendous opportunity for continued growth across all of our brands in this incredible market," McPherson added.

The Marriott Hotels & Resorts network has over 85 hotels in Europe alone, and there are currently 14 Marriott International branded hotels operating in Russia.
