Omni Hotels & Resorts has completed the acquisition of the Montelucia Resort & Spa from US-based private equity firm KSL Capital Partners for an undisclosed sum.

Following the transaction, the resort will operate under the Omni brand as the Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia.

With the acquisition, the North American hospitality group expands its Omni’s Resort Collection in the western US.

Located at the foot of the Camelback Mountain in Paradise Valley, the resort is adjacent to cities Phoenix and Scottsdale, offering access to golf, recreation, nightlife and entertainment.

The Montelucia Resort & Spa is a luxury hotel featuring 253 guestrooms, 38 suites and two presidential suites.

Omni Hotels & Resorts president Mike Deitemeyer said the Montelucia is an exquisite addition to the group’s collection of high-end resort properties.

"The property is a top attraction for guests seeking a blend of gracious hospitality, personalised service and innovative cuisine."

"We are proud to add this incredible resort to our expanding Resort Collection."

The architecture of the property is based on the white-washed villages and sun-drenched hills of Spain’s Andalusia region.

The property includes the Moroccan-inspired Joya Spa, three resort pools and five dining options, including the Prado restaurant.

The resort is the sixth property Omni has acquired from KSL Capital Partners, following the purchase of five resorts in July 2013.

The five resorts include the Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa in Austin, Texas; Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California; Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa in Rancho Mirage, California; The Omni Grove Park Inn in Asheville; and The Omni Homestead Resort in Hot Springs.
