Provenance Hotels has completed a major renovation of its guest room floors at Hotel Lucia in Portland, Oregon, US.

Under the $2.3m renovation project, the group has given a new look and feel to the hotel’s guest room corridors and 127 rooms with new furniture, lighting, drapery and carpet.

Located at 400 SW Broadway in the centre of downtown Portland, the Hotel Lucia is in close proximity to many shops, restaurants and night clubs.

Provenance Hotels president Bashar Wali said, "Coming on the heels of Hotel Lucia’s recent collaboration with Intel Labs to create an interactive social media installation in the lobby, this room renovation continues our creative reimagining of the nexus of technology and design."

The company has introduced new custom-designed furniture made of rosewood, including modern bed frames with integrated headboards and nightstands that cover the entire wall behind each bed.

The hotel has also installed a fibre optic network that transmits fast data with download speeds of around 100MBps, desks equipped with Teleadapt charging ports featuring USB, tablet and standard outlets, bedside table lamps, and I-Home Bluetooth clock radios capable of charging and playing iOS enabled smart phones.

The rooms feature new wall-mounted 40in and 44in Samsung HD TV Performance Line televisions with Comcast HD service.

The full renovation of Hotel Lucia is scheduled to be completed in 2014. While phase one involves updating the guest room floors, phase two will include renovation of the lobby, meeting rooms and all public spaces.
