The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Marriott International, has opened a 202-room hotel in Vienna, Austria.

Located on the central Schubertring Boulevard, the property is the first in the luxury hotel’s portfolio in Austria and its ninth in Europe.

The Ritz-Carlton, Vienna is comprised of four historic palaces dating back to the 19th century, and features 43 suites.

Dstrikt restaurant on the ground floor features a summer terrace and offers locally grown produce and regional dishes from the kitchen of chef Wini Brugger.

The rooftop bar Atmosphere, the Melounge lobby lounge and the cosy D-Bar are also featured in the hotel’s amenities.

Atmosphere allows guests to enjoy panoramic views of Vienna. Melounge, adjacent to the lobby, offers the Viennese tradition of coffee and cake in the afternoon, and the D-Bar is open to both local residents and hotel guests.

A range of meeting rooms, including a 300m² Crystal Ballroom festooned with thousands of sparkling crystals, two permanent boardrooms, three function rooms and a business centre, are located on the first floor.

"We are delighted to open our 80th hotel in this key European capital and to offer discerning global travellers a truly unique property here in Vienna."

A spacious Presidential suite is housed on the second floor.

The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company president and chief operating officer Herve Humler said the hotel will combine the company’s service philosophy with Viennese hospitality for guests travelling for leisure or business.

"We are delighted to open our 80th hotel in this key European capital and to offer discerning global travellers a truly unique property here in Vienna," Humler added.

Recreational amenities offered by the hotel include an 18m indoor swimming pool, fitness room, sauna and steam rooms.

The boutique Guerlain Spa will offer six treatment rooms including two specially designed for couples.
