Poly Real Estate Group has selected Rosewood Hotels & Resorts to manage the new Rosewood Sanya hotel, slated to open in 2017 in China.
Located at Haitang Bay in southern Hainan Island, the hotel will be situated within the integrated resort surrounding Sanya’s International Finance Forum convention centre, scheduled to open in 2015.
Rosewood Sanya will have a ground floor entry with an express elevator to a private lobby lounge, which offers Haitang Bay vistas, while the 14-floor oceanfront building will feature 229 guestrooms.
All guestrooms at the hotel will be ocean-facing and one-third will include balcony plunge pools, while the property will also offer 61 residential villas amidst the 16-hectare resort’s landscaped gardens.
The property will feature a 103m infinity-edge sky pool on the 13th floor that will offer a private space to enjoy the South China Sea views, and a 130m swimming pool cascading to the edge of an expansive private beach.
Rosewood Sanya will feature an all-day dining restaurant, a lobby lounge, poolside café, an indoor/outdoor market-style seafood restaurant and a beachside restaurant and bar.
Additional facilities will include Rosewood’s signature Sense spa, a fitness centre and The Pavilion residential-style meeting and function space.
Rosewood Hotel Group CEO Sonia Cheng said the group appreciates the opportunity to develop the first Rosewood resort in mainland China.
"Our collection is acclaimed in part for its exquisite resorts and we’re eager to bring our signature A Sense of Place® concept to Sanya to create a unique Rosewood offering," Cheng added.
The new hotel is the third Rosewood property to be announced in the region; Rosewood Beijing is slated for spring 2014 and Rosewood Chongqing is scheduled for 2015.
