Royal Orchid Hotels has deployed RateTiger’s RTSuite channel manager throughout its portfolio to optimise control over inventory and increase revenue.
RateTiger, a rate shopping and channel management solutions provider, enables the travel and hospitality industry to compare rates with competitors on a real-time basis.
The Indian hotel group, which has expanded from 12 to 35 properties over the last three years, has leveraged RateTiger’s cloud technology and channel management solutions to support occupancy and room revenue across all its properties.
Using RateTiger technology, the hotel portfolio distributes rates and inventory to both business and consumer travel buying channels.
Royal Orchid Hotels revenue management and electronic distribution assistant vice president Dhiraj Trivedi has selected the channel management solutions to receive market rate data for optimising room rates, automate inventory control and receive bookings in a real-time environment.
Trivedi said that the group needs to be able to manage a mix of channels – leisure and business online travel agents (OTAs) as well as consortia sites to secure bookings.
"We are now able to efficiently update all our connected channels with real-time rates and have full control of our inventory and position at all times. The various reports provide a quick view of where we stand in the market and it is very easy to see which channels are performing and bringing results, thereby helping us determine channel ROI effectively," Trivedi added.
Royal Orchid Hotels was one of the few Indian hotels that had virtual tours of all its properties on its website four years ago.
The hotel group plans to expand its social media activity and is working on organic, paid, social and mobile media, and upgrading its website to further increase exposure and reach.
RateTiger, a product of eRevMax, is headquartered in the US, with a Europe, Middle East and Africa HQ in London, UK, and a technical development centre in India.
