Starwood to open W Shenyang hotel in China

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has signed a deal with Shenyang Huaqiang Jinlang City Square Properties to build a new W Hotels brand hotel in Shenyang, China.

The hotel, W Shenyang, will be located near Qingnian Avenue, which comprises the central business district, central administration district and central cultural district.

The property is scheduled to open in 2019.

Shenyang Huaqiang Jinlang City Square Properties board chairman Lian Bin said that Shenyang is the economic, cultural, communication, trade and commercial hub of the north-eastern region of China.

"Our vision is to create a hotel which will set a new lifestyle standard. We have no doubt W Shenyang will be the best choice for both domestic and international visitors to Shenyang," Lian Bin added.

W Shenyang hotel will feature 280 guestrooms including 30 suites and an Extreme Wow Suite.

Additionally, the hotel will have over 26,000ft² of meeting and event space. Basic amenities at the hotel will include a WIRED business centre, spa, FIT workout facility, WET indoor heated swimming pool, and W Hotels The Store.

Dining options at the hotel will include three restaurants – an all-day dining restaurant, Chinese restaurant and speciality restaurant, and the Living Room Bar.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Greater China president Qian Jin said the company is pleased to partner with Huaqiang to launch the W brand in Shenyang.

"Since W Hotels made its debut in mainland China last year, the brand continues to redefine China’s luxury hotel experience. W Shenyang will offer cutting-edge design, Whatever/Whenever service, bustling bar and restaurant, and insider access to what’s new and next for both guests and locals alike," Qian Jin added.

W Hotels, a brand of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, is to open 12 new hotels in the Asia Pacific region by 2019.

More than half of these will be located in China, in cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou, Changsha and Chengdu.
