The Ritz-Carlton Hotel, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Marriott International, has opened its first hotel in India, The Ritz-Carlton, Bangalore.
Located on Residency Road, in the centre of the city, the new hotel has 277 rooms featuring the traditional designs from the Mughal era, including the Jaali (lattice screen) design, pointed archways and white marble usage similar to that of the Taj Mahal. The property also features marble staircase in centre of the hotel interior, decorative paintings and sculptures integrated with Jaali pattern.
Michelin Star chef Anupam Banerjee will oversee the seven fine dining restaurants and venues, introduced by the Ritz-Carlton, Bangalore. The Lantern, a three-level restaurant shaped like a glass lantern, offers authentic Chinese dim sum and cuisine from different provinces of China. Riwaz, the signature fine dining restaurant designed by Peter Silling, serves traditional authentic dishes from India’s North West Frontier in a contemporary space.
The Market, an all-day dining room and the only culinary theatre in Bangalore, also includes a unique wine room and private dining spaces for guests.
The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company president and chief operating officer Herve Humler said: "The hotel will bring our Ritz-Carlton service philosophy to life in this magical country, and blend it with traditional Indian hospitality to create memorable experiences for our guests.
"Our first hotel in India underlines our commitment to the Indian people who have long been supporters of our hotels overseas."
The property also has a club lounge: the first ESPA managed spa in the city, a Rossano Ferretti salon, a 600m² no-pillar ballroom, the city’s highest rooftop bar, and a sky lounge called Bang.
Additional amenities include the lobby lounge offering afternoon tea service and cocktails and the bar with distinct selection of cocktails and fine wines.
