Thompson Hotels has expanded its portfolio of luxury lifestyle hotels with the launch of a new property in Chicago’s famed Gold Coast.
The 247-room Thompson Chicago hotel, which has views of Lake Michigan and the Chicago skyline, offers personalised service to its clientele of business and leisure travellers.
The hotel’s guest rooms and public spaces were created by British designer Tara Bernerd, whose contemporary approach is complemented by the building’s bold interior architecture.
Commune Hotels & Resorts CEO Niki Leondakis said that the Thompson Chicago hotel will attract both locals and visitors.
"This distinct property, in its coveted location, offers both comfort and style with its bold and provocative vibe that charms and invites guests to feel at home and have a genuinely good time," Leondakis added.
The hotel’s rooms and suites are designed with Sferra Italian linens, bespoke furniture, modern art and a curated, fully stocked mini bar.
The bathrooms are equipped with oversized terrycloth robes, modern rain shower heads and natural bath and spa products by REN.
Other amenities include 24hr in-room dining, a 1,000ft² 24hr fitness centre, complimentary WiFi up to 1MG, fresh roasted coffee and tea by Intelligentsia in the lobby each morning, and complimentary car service to downtown Chicago.
The hotel also features 12,225ft² of flexible event space, and has private dining rooms with reception areas and six two-level Thompson Loft Suites that are also available to host special events, meetings and intimate cocktail receptions.
