American Hotel Income Properties REIT has announced the completion of renovations at two Florida hotels with an investment of $5.3m.
The firm invested around $2.7m on renovations at the 111-guestroom Holiday Inn Express & Suites Fort Myers East – The Forum and around $2.6m at the 101-guestroom Holiday Inn Express & Suites Sarasota I-75.

The two hotels will have ribbon-cutting celebrations later this month.
American Hotel Income Properties REIT CEO John O’Neill said: “These two hotel renovations mark the completion of our 2019 property improvement plan, with major upgrades at ten of our hotels accomplished in the past 12 months totaling over $25 million of property investment – significantly improving the guest experience at these hotels, and further enhancing their market position.
“The renovations at these two larger Florida hotels were accomplished on time and on budget, with the properties offering the latest guest comforts in time for the busy winter and holiday season.”
These two hotels were transformed after the Holiday Inn Express ‘Formula Blue’ design and renovation programme.

By GlobalDataThe renovation programme included guestroom updates with new carpets, wall coverings, window treatments, lighting, artwork, beds and furniture.
Furthermore, guestroom bathrooms were redesigned with new flooring, tub-surrounds, mirrors, vanities and lighting fixtures.
The lobbies and front desk facilities were renovated, while the breakfast rooms were updated with new buffet counters.
The fitness centers were modernised with the inclusion of new fitness equipment.
All the corridors were remodeled with new carpets, wall coverings and lighting, while the exterior of the properties were repainted.
AHIP has also announced that all guestroom renovations at the Homewood Suites by Hilton Dover – Rockaway (New Jersey) have been completed. The outdoor enhancements at the hotel will be completed during the first half of this year.
