IHG Hotels & Resorts has unveiled plans to expand its Indian footprint to more than 400 open and developing hotels within five years.
Currently, the company has over 50 operational hotels and 80 in the development phase in India, collectively comprising nearly 12,000 rooms.

Eight IHG brands are involved in this growth, spanning the luxury, premium, and midscale categories across the country.
IHG will introduce its Vignette Collection in early 2026 to strengthen its presence in the luxury and lifestyle sector.
The company said its essentials portfolio, notably Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express, accounts for more than 70% of its operating hotels in India. Holiday Inn Express led signings in its category by Q3 2025.

IHG’s premium portfolio is seeing notable growth, with Crowne Plaza representing around 25% of its hotels in development.
The opening of Crowne Plaza Lucknow marked IHG’s 50th hotel in India. The voco brand has also debuted with signings in Amritsar, Mumbai, Srinagar, and Jim Corbett National Park.
Luxury and lifestyle brands are expanding too, with the InterContinental brand growing across metropolitan areas and resort destinations. Six Senses Fort Barwara opened in Rajasthan in 2021, followed by Six Senses Vana in 2023.
IHG plans to expand its portfolio in India by leveraging owner partnerships and exploring conversion opportunities across its mainstream, premium, and luxury brands.

In September 2025, IHG signed a management agreement with Four Vedas Hotels & Resorts to introduce the Holiday Inn brand to Siliguri, West Bengal, India.
