Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism Edmund Bartlett said: “The resort’s return not only restores hundreds of jobs but also strengthens our tourism value chain, benefiting communities and the wider economy. I commend the Half Moon team for their continued investment and unwavering commitment to Jamaica.”

Half Moon closed after Hurricane Melissa to conduct repairs and focus on supporting more than 850 affected employees.

With restoration work now complete, management states that the property is prepared to return to normal operations and guest services.

Facilities reopening alongside guest accommodations include dining venues such as Delmare, North Pointe, Hayward’s, Spice with its beach barbecue service, Lester’s Bar, Hammock Bar, and Fern Tree Spa.

Sporting amenities, including a golf course, tennis courts, an equestrian centre, a fitness suite, watersports and outdoor spaces, will also be available again. Family activities will resume across various outdoor areas.

Half Moon’s general manager Shernette Crichton said: “As we reopen, we’re once again bringing together everything guests cherish about Half Moon – from our beautiful location to our contemporary resort experience and the warm and welcoming embrace from our staff who have helped create generations of memories.”

The resort operates along a two-mile section of Jamaica’s northern coastline and remains a significant fixture in the country’s tourism sector.
