Out of the travel & tourism industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 7.76% share in August 2021, recording an increase of 2.22% over the last three-month average share.

By GlobalData1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 52.56% in August 2021, registering a 24.24% flat growth over the previous month.
2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 19.23% share, a decrease of 34.78% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 12.82%, registering a 16.67% decline from July 2021.
4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 7.69%, flat growth over the previous month.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 19.35% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s travel & tourism industry during August 2021 over July 2021.
Tabcorp Holdings posted 18 IT jobs in August 2021 and registered a drop of 33.33% over the previous month, followed by Flight Centre Travel Group with 15 jobs and a 25% growth. Qantas Airways with 7 IT jobs and Lindsay Australia with 5 jobs, recorded a 30% decline and a 400% flat growth, respectively, while Virgin Australia Holdings recorded a decline of 58.33% with 5 job postings during August 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 70.51%, down by 12.7% from July 2021. Mid Level positions with a 15.38% share, registered an increase of 20% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 14.1% share, up 120% over July 2021.
