Asia Pacific’s hotel occupancy for October 2011 fell by 2% to 70% and its average daily rate rose by 8.4% to $150.60 year-on-year, according to an STR Global report.
The report revealed that the region’s average revenue per available room (revPAR) rose by 6.2% to $105.41.

The Rugby World Cup continued to boost New Zealand’s October revPAR, which rose by 110.5%, while Hong Kong reported a 20.2% increase and Thailand a 10.9% revPAR rise.
In year-on-year comparisons, Phuket recorded the largest occupancy growth of 8.9% to 70.2% for October, followed by Bangkok with a 6.4% increase to 57.7%.
