GuestFlow enables guests to manage shading, temperature, lighting and other room settings via wall panels. These interfaces are developed to blend with modern interiors and allow instant adjustment of preferences during their stay.

The system provides hotel operators with centralised real-time insights into occupancy, temperature, room status, and guest service requests through a centralised dashboard.

ABB states that cybersecurity features have been embedded at both software and controller levels to ensure operational security across hotel environments.

GuestFlow is supplied as a complete ABB ecosystem, including control modules, GRMS software, and in-room interfaces. This approach aims to streamline deployment and maintenance by reducing third-party dependencies.

The system incorporates presence detection with automated heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), and lighting controls to optimise energy usage in real time.

According to ABB, this functionality is intended to help hotels reduce operational costs while aligning with their sustainability objectives.

ABB plans an initial launch of GuestFlow in the Middle East region with further international expansion envisaged in subsequent phases. The solution will be available for demonstration at Light + Building 2026 in Frankfurt, Germany, from 8 to 13 March.

ABB electrification smart buildings division’s building automation business line leader Lucy Han said: “Hotels today must deliver exceptional guest experiences while improving efficiency and meeting sustainability goals. ABB GuestFlow was purpose-built for hospitality.

“It brings intelligent room control and centralised insight together in one trusted ABB ecosystem – making smart technology invisible to the guest, yet invaluable to the operator.”
