Hospitality software company Actabl has introduced HotelData.com, allowing hoteliers to benefit from a new, free resource hub for data-driven decision-making.

The platform provides benchmarks and planning tools based on actual performance data, aiming to assist in operational and financial planning.

Powered by Actabl’s proprietary data, HotelData.com is designed to meet the industry’s requirement for objective, market-based resources.

It aggregates data from thousands of US hotels, providing up-to-date benchmarks and insights.

Actabl editorial head Sarah McCay Tams said: “HotelData.com’s mission is to empower the people who power hospitality by making data both accessible and actionable.

“Hotel leaders often rely on guesswork or outdated benchmarks when planning. HotelData.com changes that. Using Actabl’s aggregated hotel data, it provides a snapshot of actual market performance, giving hoteliers clear and timely insights they can trust to build budgets, optimise staffing, validate investments, and navigate an increasingly complex market with confidence.”

Its first report, the 2025–2026 Budget Planning Guide, offers critical insights into labour costs, revenue performance, and profit margins, supporting hoteliers in creating accurate budgets for the upcoming year.

The report delivers forward-looking insights grounded in actual performance metrics.

It breaks down labour costs, revenue per available room (RevPAR), average daily rate (ADR), and gross operating profit (GOP), comparing budgeted figures for 2025 with current performance and forecasts.

The guide also provides strategic recommendations to enhance labour efficiency, pricing, and profitability.

The inaugural report highlights key findings in labour costs, revenue performance, and profit margins, where labour costs varied by property type, with extended stay properties at $26.29 and resorts at $123.60 per available room, RevPAR fell short of budget expectations at $105.12, against a budgeted $123.89 in H1 2025.

Despite an underperformance in RevPAR, ADR remained stable, suggesting disciplined pricing.

Labour costs in H1 2025 rose by an average of 6.6% year-over-year, signifying wage and benefit pressures.

However, hotels managed expenses effectively, maintaining GOP margins close to their budgeted levels, the report said.

Actabl plans to regularly update HotelData.com with fresh data, ensuring hotel leaders have continuous access to the latest performance metrics and operational drivers.

Last month, Actabl also introduced a Digital Night Audit feature within the ProfitSword platform, modernising the traditional hotel audit process.
