Digital travel platform Agoda has formed a strategic collaboration with hospitality company Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL).

The partnership is set to broaden Agoda’s premium offerings, making IHCL’s portfolio of properties accessible to international travellers through Agoda’s platform.

Agoda CEO Omri Morgenshtern said: “IHCL is an iconic name, and that says something in a market such as India where hospitality is in a league of its own.

“Under the leadership of MD and CEO Puneet Chhatwal, IHCL continues to set benchmarks in the industry. One of Agoda’s strengths is working together with the best wherever we operate, and with this partnership, we’re doing exactly that. I’m thrilled to combine IHCL’s portfolio of heritage palaces, luxury city hotels, and more with Agoda’s tech-driven solutions and global reach.”

This move integrates 250 of IHCL’s operating properties into Agoda’s global customer base, encompassing brands such as SeleQtions, Taj, Vivanta, Ginger, and the newly launched Claridges Collection.

Agoda’s collaboration with IHCL is anticipated to connect the latter to an expanding user base of international and intra-regional travellers, especially from Asia Pacific and the Middle East.

The alliance is also in line with IHCL’s strategic goal to enlarge its portfolio by 2030, catering to the digitally savvy traveller.

IHCL managing director and CEO Puneet Chhatwal said: “This partnership with Agoda supports our ambition of driving global awareness for IHCL’s diverse brands.

“As travel demand continues to grow, we are confident that Agoda’s strong presence in key international source markets and its cutting-edge technology will help accelerate our growth and deepen our customer reach.”

Earlier this year, Paytm owner One97 Communications also entered a partnership with Agoda to offer hotel booking services on the Paytm app.

This move broadens Paytm Travel’s offerings, which include flights, buses, and trains, to now feature a range of accommodations both in India and internationally.
