Situated on Koh Yao Yai island in Thailand, the resort reflects Anantara’s focus on integrating local culture and surroundings within its operations.

It occupies more than one kilometre of beachfront and provides accommodation options ranging from suites and pool villas to penthouses.

Facilities include wellness villas providing traditional Thai medicine, family suites with private splash pools and waterslides, and a children’s club.

LHW member success and development vice-president Dean Bannon said: “Welcoming Anantara Koh Yao Yai to The Leading Hotels of the World is a meaningful addition to our collection.

“Its thoughtful design, natural setting, and deeply immersive experiences offer travellers a stay that is both memorable and truly connected to its destination.”

Anantara Koh Yao Yai general manager Stuart de San Nicolas said: “We are truly honoured to join such a prestigious collection of hotels.

“As part of The Leading Hotels of the World, we look forward to welcoming guests from even further afield and inviting them to experience the natural beauty and spirit of the island we proudly call home.”

Last month, Minor Hotels announced the global launch of The Wolseley Hotels, with the first property set to open in New York City, US, in 2027.

The property will include 76 guest rooms and suites, with interiors intended to combine traditional design elements and modern features.
