The Arora Group has expanded its portfolio of assets with the acquisition of Bloc Hotels, a company specialising in the development and operation of short-stay hotels, for an undisclosed sum.

Arora Group noted that this move strengthens its position as a preferred hotel operator in Gatwick, UK.

Bloc Hotels’ design and construction techniques are said to facilitate the creation of compact yet well-appointed rooms.

The acquisition includes the 105-bedroom Bloc Birmingham and 245-bedroom Bloc Gatwick, as well as two additional sites in the UK that are in the pipeline for development.

Known originally as a specialist airport hotel owner and operator, the Arora Group has been expanding its reach.

In 2017, the group launched its inaugural city centre hotel, the InterContinental London – The O2.

The group has since broadened its reach into the country house hotel sector, adding properties such as Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf and Spa, and Fairmont Windsor Park to its collection.

Arora Group was advised by Dentons in this acquisition. Dentons Real Estate & Hotels Partner Simon Masri led the transaction.
