Singaporean hospitality company Banyan Tree Group has announced its European debut with the launch of Banyan Tree Varko Bay in Pogonia, Aitoloakarnania, Greece.
The property has been launched as part of a partnership with French hospitality company Accor Group.

Banyan Tree Varko Bay will feature 116 villas and 43 residences and is expected to open in 2026.
The property offers an array of amenities including the Banyan Tree Spa, a water sports centre, a beach club and several meeting and events spaces.
The hotel will additionally feature several dining options including three restaurants. The signature restaurant Saffron will serve Thai cuisine.
The resort, designed in collaboration with the Greek company Elastic Architects, intends to be the first in Europe to obtain LEED Gold (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification and serve as a model of sustainability for the hospitality industry.

By GlobalDataIn line with Banyan Tree’s sustainability goals, the hotel will be built and operated with a sustainable and eco-sensitive approach.
Similar to other Banyan Tree developments, the property will prioritise responsible water use.
According to the press statement, 70% of the water will be reclaimed for irrigation, renewable energy sources will be utilised and enhanced vegetation will be promoted.
Banyan Tree Group manages approximately 60 hotels globally, with over 50 projects in the pipeline by 2025.
