The California Hotel and Lodging Association (CHLA) has launched its “Clean + Safe Guidance for Meetings and Events” standards.
The new guidance provides Covid-19 safety protocols for California hotels as they are set to reopen for individual meetings and events.

The guidance includes recommendations from the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the California Department of Public Health and Cal/OSHA.
It is aligned with CHLA’s guidelines for ‘individual travel’, which has been issued in April this year.
CHLA president and CEO Lynn S. Mohrfeld said: “With our meeting protocols, California hotels will be ready to host safe individual meetings when the state and county health officials allow – hopefully soon.
“California hotels did an outstanding job protecting guests and employees when they reopened for tourism in June; we trust that our meeting guidance similarly will ensure the well-being of attendees.”

Also included under the standards are the attendee arrival procedures, increased use of presentation technology, electronic registration, sanitation breaks, use of multiple rooms for one meeting, as well as cashless transactions.
