Luxury hotel brand Corinthia Hotels has signed an agreement with ShiLong Industry Co and the Geminus Group to open Corinthia Chengdu, a new hotel in China’s Sichuan province.
Scheduled for completion in 2032, the development will occupy a mixed-use tower with the hotel expected to feature around 150 rooms and suites, along with 60 branded residences.

All accommodations will be housed within a 225m high-rise and will overlook central Chengdu.
The project forms part of a larger master development currently under construction in the city’s South Central Activity Zone. Plans for the site include retail, residential, and commercial facilities.
Corinthia Group CEO Simon Naudi said: “With this project, we are proud to introduce Corinthia to Central China, creating a landmark destination that reflects the spirit of its setting while delivering the character and intuitive service that define our brand.
“We look forward to welcoming both domestic and international guests to experience Corinthia in one of China’s most vibrant and forward-looking cities.”
The total investment is estimated at approximately 4bn yuan ($578m).
This initiative aligns with Corinthia Hotels’ ongoing expansion efforts in China.
Shilong Industrial Co chairman Xiao Miaomiao said: “Through this collaborative effort, we aim to create a new benchmark for luxury living that embodies both an international outlook and local character, contributing to Chengdu’s emergence as a world-class destination for high-end consumption and resort experiences.”
The company continues to evaluate further opportunities across the country as it expands its presence in major Chinese cities.

Earlier this month, Corinthia Hotels opened Corinthia Rome, its inaugural location in Italy, on Piazza del Parlamento.
