Costa del Sol Hotel Group has commenced construction of a 153-room hotel situated opposite El Salvador’s San Óscar Arnulfo Romero y Galdámez International Airport, Comalapa, El Salvador.
The Hotel El Salvador Airport project is intended to increase accommodation capacity near the country’s principal air transport hub and serve corporate travellers, transit passengers, flight crews, and business delegations.

The new facility will cover around 18,000m² and include restaurants, bars, meeting spaces, event rooms, and a rooftop with views of the airport.
The first phase represents an investment exceeding $16m.
Costa del Sol Hotel Group has indicated that this initiative forms part of a broader expansion strategy in El Salvador.
Over the next decade, the company plans to develop five additional hotels in selected locations across the country. The combined investment for these projects is projected at more than $120m.

By GlobalDataAccording to the developer, these forthcoming projects are expected to create 800 direct jobs and more than 3,200 indirect positions.
The hotel group stated that this expansion aims to support increasing air traffic and related logistical demands while contributing to both tourism and business activities in El Salvador.
Costa del Sol Hotel Group CEO Manuel Ríos said: “This initiative responds to the sustained growth in demand for high-quality lodging in the airport corridor, one of El Salvador’s most dynamic logistical and commercial hubs. We are convinced that this project will strengthen air connectivity, corporate tourism, and strategic investment in the country.
“Incorporating an international-standard hotel into the airport environment will expand services for transit passengers, business delegations, and corporate travellers, while boosting El Salvador’s competitiveness as a destination for investment, tourism, and regional connectivity.”
