Located at 1010 Northgate Drive in San Rafael, the property features Marin County’s largest outdoor hotel pool.

It also offers nearly 6,840ft² of event space across seven ballrooms and meeting rooms, along with an outdoor seating area, a restaurant, a fitness centre and a bar.

Equinox Hospitality principal Adam Suleman said: “The potential of this property has always resonated with me, having kept an eye on it for quite some time.

“The property’s strategic location – being at the heart of key sites in Marin, in proximity to San Francisco and Wine Country and next door to a billion-dollar retail and development zone – lends itself to a wealth of opportunities.”

The company plans to renovate and rebrand the Four Points by Sheraton San Rafael, with renovation plans expected to commence next year.

The hotel will soon become part of Tribute by Marriott’s portfolio, known for its independent properties.

In addition to enhancing the guest experience, this initiative will cater to the local Marin community while attracting visitors from neighbouring regions such as San Francisco, Napa and Sonoma.

Suleman added: “Having acquired five unique properties and executed more than $100m in hotel deal volume in the past year, Equinox is on a determined expansion path.”
