Hard Rock International has revealed plans to develop the $850m Hard Rock Hotel & Casino San Juan in the US.

The venture is a collaboration with Stonecrest Investment Management, Misla Hospitality and The Interfin Companies. Construction is set to begin in mid-2026, with the opening of the facility anticipated in 2029.

The new establishment marks Hard Rock Hotel & Casino’s debut in Puerto Rico. The design by Klai Juba Wald and CMA Architects will feature contributions from local artists.

Set to join Hard Rock’s global portfolio, the new property will include 415 rooms, 58 suites, and 186 branded residences.

Hard Rock International chief operating officer Jeff Hook said: “San Juan is a natural extension of our portfolio, creating a seamless Hard Rock experience for guests travelling between our international properties.

Dining options at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino San Juan will range from casual poolside offerings to more upscale cuisine, along with several bars across the premises.

Visitors will have access to leisure facilities such as a fitness centre, the Rock Spa, and three terrace-level pools. Additional amenities will cater to younger visitors, with a kids’ club, arcade, and teen spaces available.

The site is situated close to Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport and the historic Old San Juan area.

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino San Juan is projected to have a significant economic impact, creating more than 2,500 construction jobs and 1,250 permanent positions once operational.

In July 2025, Hard Rock partnered with Sak Capital Partners on a new-build hotel project in the US, targeting an early 2028 opening.
