“Building on the successful launch of Holiday Inn Resort Kathmandu Budhanilkantha with our partners, the new signing in Dhulabari is a testament to the trust, alignment, and shared vision we have established together.”

With an opening scheduled for 2026, the upcoming Holiday Inn Express & Suites will offer 99 rooms and suites, diverse dining options, and a rooftop setting.

The hotel’s strategic location in Jhapa District provides easy access for travellers, being close to the Nepal-India border at Kakarvitta and Chandragadi Domestic Airport.

Hotel Eastern Nepal chairperson Binita Thapa Khadka said: “We are proud to expand our partnership with IHG Hotels & Resorts with the addition of a second hotel. Our experience of working with IHG for Holiday Inn Resort Kathmandu Budhanilkantha affirmed IHG’s operational excellence and brand value, making this next project a natural step forward.

“Dhulabari presents an exciting opportunity for growth, and with IHG’s trusted expertise and global standards, we are confident this hotel will elevate the hospitality offering in the region and serve as a strong economic contributor.”

This development is expected to cater to a mix of business and leisure travellers, specifically benefiting from the growing commercial and agricultural industries in the region, stated IHG.

With a scarcity of branded hotels in the area, the Dhulabari property is also set to become a space for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE), as well as social gatherings.
