CFAR for hotels allows guests to select their preferred refundability options and receive immediate refunds if they decide to cancel their booking.

Available in over 190 countries, CFAR enables properties and booking platforms to offer expanded flexibility options to customers.

According to HTS, this feature has produced consistently high single-digit attachment rates and positive customer response since its rollout.

Hopper and HTS flexibility product vice-president Colin Whitney said: “Travellers value the ability to select the refundability option that best suits their needs.

“When customer issues are resolved seamlessly and in real time, it strengthens both loyalty and brand perception. This is why Cancel for Any Reason consistently delivers a 95% customer satisfaction rating.”

Tripadvisor, which integrated the booking tool within its app in 2024, reported that 15% of hotel bookings included an HTS fintech product after adopting the flexibility solution.

Through CFAR, hotel partners can generate new revenue streams while HTS manages cancellation processes and covers related costs with automated self-service systems.

HTS uses AI and data-driven technology to develop solutions tailored to the requirements of modern travellers.

Cloudbeds CEO Adam Harris said: “Booking flexibility has been reserved for airlines and major OTAs [online travel agencies] for too long. Independent hotels were told to compete, but without the tools to do so. That ends now with our partnership.

“HTS’ innovative CFAR for hotels is proving that when independents are given the same tools, they have a competitive advantage. This is the future of hospitality infrastructure: flexibility for travellers, intelligence for operators, and growth built directly into the booking flow.”
