
JdV by Hyatt brand has marked its entry into Alaska, US, with the launch of the Wildbirch Hotel in Anchorage’s Mushing District.
This new boutique lifestyle hotel is said to be the first of its kind in Anchorage in two decades and aims to serve as a hub for both community events and tourists.

The property offers 252 rooms and is positioned as a lifestyle hotel that enriches the West Fourth Avenue corridor.
Wildbirch Hotel general manager Haje Thurau said: “Watching this place come to life has been an honour.
“It’s very special to see our overnight guests immerse themselves in the Anchorage lifestyle, engage with locals and discover what makes our little corner of Alaska such a magical place.”
The hotel offers a communal outdoor deck with views of Mount Susitna and Knik Arm, various on-site dining options and 5,200ft² in meeting and event space.

By GlobalDataWildbirch Hotel food and beverage director Gary McCutcheon said: “We are confident Crimson will make its mark on Anchorage’s buzzing dining scene.
“Chef La Mont is extremely talented and we’re looking forward to treating our hotel guests to classic Alaska dishes, while surprising and delighting our Alaskans with a few twists on old favourites.”
Another upcoming feature is The Undertap, a beer tasting room created in collaboration with Anchorage’s Midnight Sun Brewing, set to open later this year.
The Wildbirch Hotel project is part of a broader initiative by MASH, a company co-founded by Mark Begich and partner Sheldon Fisher.

This development follows Hyatt Hotels’ expansion of the JdV by Hyatt portfolio, with the opening of EPISODE Hsinchu in Taiwan in November 2022, marking the brand’s first property in the region.
