
The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts has signed a management agreement for a new hotel in Sikkim, India.
The latest agreement marks the hotel brand’s foray into the region.

Situated on a 17-acre plot overlooking Gangtok Hill, Leela Sikkim is owned by SIBIN Group.
The 140-room property is scheduled to open in December 2026 in Ranka village.
The hotel will comprise 35 independent luxury villas, including 20 wellness villas, 13 twin villas, and a six-room double-storey villa, along with 88 luxury rooms in a hotel block.
It will have an all-day dining restaurant, a wellness restaurant, a speciality restaurant, and a lounge bar.

The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts CEO Anuraag Bhatnagar said: “We are delighted to introduce The Leela brand into north-east India with the project, Leela Sikkim.
“This expansion is in lockstep with the growing demand from the discerning global leisure traveller to experience meaningful and transformative journeys that are an authentic expression of a region’s natural beauty, heritage, cuisine, and culture.”
The property will be situated 10km away from Sikkim’s capital city Gangtok.
In August 2023, the hotel brand opened Leela Ashtamudi, A Raviz Hotel, its second property in Kerala, India.
Owned by a Brookfield Asset Management-sponsored private real estate fund, Leela Palaces, Hotels, and Resorts currently manages 12 properties across India.
These properties are spread across locations such as Bengaluru, Chennai, Gandhinagar, Gurugram, New Delhi, Jaipur, Kovalam, Mumbai, Udaipur and more.
