The property occupies 4.6ha of forested land and features an architectural approach designed to preserve natural terrain and mature trees, including a 12m Rain Tree and an Indian Beech tree at the entrance.

Elevated treehouses based on local seed pod designs are positioned among the canopy, while an adjacent five-storey building houses guest rooms with views of the surrounding rainforest, gardens and Upper Seletar Reservoir.

Guest room interiors display artwork by Donna Ong and antique lithographs of native wildlife to reflect various layers of the forest ecosystem.

All the rooms incorporate sustainability features such as full-length windows for natural ventilation, interactive displays tracking energy use, rainwater harvesting systems for flushing, and other features aligned with Singapore’s Green Mark Platinum Super Low Energy certification standards.

The property’s dining options include the Forage restaurant, which implements a harvest-to-table approach with ingredients from the rooftop garden and local sources.

Banyan Group president and CEO Eddy See said: “As we mark our 100th hotel with our first in Singapore, Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree represents a deeply meaningful homecoming. It brings together our legacy of design-led hospitality with our commitment to stewardship and shared impact.

“Here, guests are invited to slow down, reconnect with nature, and experience travel as a force that uplifts people, places, and communities.”

The resort also offers recreational amenities such as a rooftop pool overlooking Upper Seletar Reservoir and an observation deck for birdwatching, where more than 30 species have been recorded.

Facilities for events are available at Meranti Ballroom while wellness services are provided through spa suites located adjacent to the forested grounds.

The resort also includes a nature-inspired playground designed around native flora motifs for children.

Mandai Wildlife Group CEO Bennett Neo said: “For over a decade, we have been transforming the Mandai Wildlife Reserve into a world-leading wildlife and nature destination, where our parks offer windows into the wild and public spaces create new ways to enjoy the outdoors.

“With extensive experiences beyond immersive wildlife encounters across our 126ha precinct, accommodation is a key part of the journey. Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree is an important addition that allows guests to stay longer, explore at their own pace, and fully enjoy everything that the precinct has to offer.”
