The Algonquin Hotel in New York, US, is to close from 1 January 2012 to 30 April 2012 while it undergoes a major renovation.
The 174-room property is part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection, a network of upscale, independent hotels.

The renovation comes four months after former owner HEI Hotels and Resorts sold the hotel to a division of MassMutual.
According to USA Today, HEI will continue to manage the hotel, which was named one of the National Trust’s Historic Hotels of America last year.
