Luxury hospitality company Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts and real estate developer Luneng Group have announced plans to open a Four Seasons hotel in Dalian, China.

To be located within the Donggang (East Harbour), the new mixed-use tower will open in the financial and commercial hub of the Dalian, which attracts domestic and overseas travellers. Along with the hotel, the tower will feature office space.

Luneng Group head of hotel division Tao Zhou said: "With a pre-eminent location in downtown Dalian within the Donggang district, Four Seasons Hotel Dalian will be a great addition to the city.

"We are pleased to partner with Four Seasons, a company we greatly admire, to bring our combined vision to life as a crowning feature of the city's new financial and commercial centre."

The hotel, which is being designed by NBBJ Shanghai and Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA) Singapore, will feature around 250 guest rooms and suites, a pool, fitness centre and spa. It will also have event and meeting space with several ballrooms and meeting rooms.

Tokyo-based Strickland will design on-site restaurants, a hotel bar, lobby lounge, a deli and pastry shop with outdoor terrace.

Construction of the hotel is slated to commence later this year and it is expected to open in 2020.
