The 128-room property was opened in 2007 and offers two restaurants, the Sabrage Bar and a wine cellar with over 660 international and national labels.

The resort will also feature five meeting rooms totalling 502m2.

According to Marriott, recreation facilities include wine tours, a swimming pool, a fitness centre, a sauna, a tennis court, a hiking trail and a library.

Spa do Vinho will be the 28th property to join Marriott International’s Autograph Collection of independent hotels, and recently received the Best Spa in Brazil award by Brazilian travel magazine Viagem e Turismo for its wine-inspired spa treatments.

Marriott International has four hotels representing four distinct brands in operation in Brazil: the Renaissance São Paolo, the São Paolo Airport Marriott, the Marriott Executive Apartments São Paulo, and the JW Marriott Rio de Janeiro.

In November 2011, the Autograph Collection revealed that the Union Station Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee, US, will join its collection in January 2012.

The 125-room Union Station Hotel is a member of the Historic Hotels of America, a National Trust for Historic Preservation programme.

The Autograph Collection portfolio includes more than 25 properties in the US, Europe and the British Virgin Islands, a number that will double by the end of 2012.
