Switzerland-based hotel management company Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts plans to open a new property named Mövenpick Hotel Heraa Jeddah in Saudi Arabia.

The hotel is part of the company’s expansion plan in the kingdom and will be the 14th property of Mövenpick’s Saudi Arabian offering and fourth property in Jeddah.

Mövenpick Hotel Heraa Jeddah will feature 300 rooms and is expected to open in first quarter of 2019.

It will feature modern day amenities, including two signature restaurants, a beverage outlet, seven meeting rooms, a health club with gym, seven stand-alone villas and a ballroom.

"The hotel is just five minutes from Jeddah’s King Abdulaziz International Airport, which is currently undergoing a $7.2bn expansion."

The hotel will be located in Prince Sultan Road, which is one of the prime locations of the city and is a popular business and leisure destination, which includes Kingdom Tower and Jeddah Waterfront.

The new property in Jeddah will be one of five Saudi new builds being developed by the hospitality firm over the next four years. Other planned properties include one in Al Khobar, two in Riyadh, and Mövenpick Hotel City Star Jeddah, which will feature 233 rooms.

Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts Middle East and Asia CEO Andreas Mattmüller said: "The hotel is just five minutes from Jeddah’s King Abdulaziz International Airport, which is currently undergoing a $7.2bn expansion to take its ultimate capacity to 80 million passengers annually.

"We will therefore be the first point of call for travellers stopping in Jeddah en-route to the two holy cities, Makkah and Madinah."
