This marks Scandic’s sixth hotel in Stavanger and is to be located within the Ankerkvartalet complex area being developed by SVG Property.

Scandic Hotels Group president and CEO Jens Mathiesen said: “Stavanger is one of Norway’s strongest economic hubs with great growth potential. Today, we already have several fantastic Scandic hotels in the city, and we’re now broadening our offering by adding a Scandic Go.

“Our ambition with Scandic Go is to lead the market in the rapidly growing economy segment, which is a clear part of our growth strategy.”

The new hotel aims to cater to both business and leisure travellers, offering a balance of affordability and smart design.

Scandic Hotels Group chief development officer Jesper Engman said: “The Norwegian hotel market is expected to continue to grow, creating excellent opportunities for new investments and expansion, ideally in cooperation with long-term partners such as SVG Property.”

With approximately 280 properties, the Scandinavian hotel chain continues to focus on sustainability.

Similar to most of Scandic’s properties, the new hotel will seek certification from the Nordic Swan Ecolabel, implementing eco-friendly practices such as using recycled materials.

This hotel will be the third Scandic Go in Norway, following previously announced openings in Oslo and Tromsø.

Scandic’s network spans over 130 destinations, operating and developing around 58,000 rooms.

In December 2025, Scandic expanded its Norwegian presence with the addition of a new franchise hotel to its portfolio.
