This renovation, which began in tower five in November 2024, involves a complete overhaul of the suites, with completion expected by the end of this year.

The team tested various layouts to optimise spatial arrangements using plywood prototypes in a single room, allowing them to refine the design for maximum functionality.

Tahiti Village Resort and Spa operations vice-president Chris Breed said: “We envisioned families using the rooms in different ways.

“Grandparents could be cooking, parents relaxing or working, and kids playing—all without anyone feeling cramped. Our goal is to enhance how our owners and guests experience the space.”

The new furniture is not only engineered to be more durable but also offers larger seating arrangements, departing from traditional hotel furniture layouts.

Breed added: “Our previous seating layout followed more traditional arrangements, but we recognised that the way people vacation has changed.

“With that in mind, we designed new pieces that create pockets of space—comfortable, flexible areas that better support how families and friends gather today.”

A key aspect of the redesign is the elimination of clutter. Items such as floor lamps and side tables have been removed in favour of integrated solutions for drinks and devices.

The renovation also considers the needs of the staff, with housekeeping consulted to ensure the new furniture supports daily operations and includes lighter, more manageable pieces.

Following the guest room refurbishment, Tahiti Village plans to renovate its common areas, encompassing the lobby and hallways.
