The hotel features an integrated University of Virginia Welcome Center, which provides guided campus tours, historical information, and resources for prospective families and other visitors.

The site also has three dining venues and views of the university Grounds and the Blue Ridge Mountains.

The conference centre and meeting spaces cater to corporate, association, and academic groups. The venue can accommodate events for up to 1,000 attendees, with flexible spaces spread across multiple floors.

Dining-related event spaces include The Poplar Parlor, the private dining room of The Poplar restaurant, with 1,430ft² for up to 60 guests.

The opening places the hotel on the UVA Grounds, where it will operate alongside university events and visitor activity, including game days, reunions and seasonal events.

The hotel also highlights nearby attractions, including University of Virginia tours, the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Monticello Wine Trail, and visits to the historic homes of Thomas Jefferson and James Monroe.

Virginia Guesthouse general manager Gregg Hilker said: “Virginia Guesthouse was imagined as a gathering space to foster community and support all aspects of the university.

“We’re thrilled to open our doors and welcome our neighbours and UVA family for the first time, and we look forward to becoming a meaningful part of daily life in Charlottesville.”
